How to Become an Electrician in Ontario
To become an electrician in Ontario, you must first complete a high school diploma or equivalent. From there, you’ll need to complete a 9,000-hour apprenticeship program, which typically takes about five years. During your apprenticeship, you’ll learn the ins and outs of electrical systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
Once you’ve completed your apprenticeship, you’ll need to pass a certification exam to become a licensed electrician in Ontario. This will allow you to work independently and take on your own clients, leading to a potentially lucrative career in the field.
